Distinctive octagonal chimney
stacks and a Georgian façade lend Washingford House
a stately air – but in fact it is the friendliest of places
to stay. Owners Paris and Nigel Back love entertaining –
their experience manifests itself not only in the delicious
breakfasts as well as in the many details with which Paris
makes her guests feel absolutely at home, such as fresh
flowers which are always to be found in the rooms.
Washingford House has been recently
decorated and is a welcoming mix of old and new. Spacious
and light-filled bedrooms look out over the lovely garden
– a favourite haunt for local birds. Beyond, sheep graze
on acres of pasture amid the changing agricultural landscape.
There is a generously sized bedroom
with twin beds which enjoys both a southern and a western
aspect looking out over the garden. Its private bathroom
is similarly well proportioned and has a large window towards
the west.
There is a single bedroom facing
west over fields with a pleasant private neighbouring bathroom.
